Climate change is many things - terrifying, complex, dramatic. But funny?

Everyone knows that comedy has the power to influence perceptions and change minds. But it only works if the audience is laughing. If they’re not, they’re likely to be reaching for the remote; and if they feel they’re being lectured at, they’ll be switching off completely.
We believe comedy has the power to reach the parts other genres can’t. We also believe that if you look beyond the basic tropes around polar bears, glaciers and our imminent extinction, there’s plenty of potential for laughs. Through events, publications and other activities we’ll be opening up new avenues for comedy to explore the most urgent crisis of our times – and offering one-on-one support and resources for creatives to do so.

“If you pitched a joke about an interfering mother-in-law, tiny in-flight snacks, or three Brits from different nations entering a bar, the only laughs you’d expect would be those accompanying your rapid exit from the writer’s room.”
