Documentary Filmmaker
Dáša Raimanová is a freelance documentary filmmaker, originally from Slovakia whose work explores socio-political topics, focusing on ordinary people with extraordinary lives.
Her feature debut 'Polyland' gives voice to three strong women from different minorities in Wroclaw and explores the nuances of how it feels to be black, Muslim or LGBTQ+ in the most homogenous country in an ever more right-leaning Europe. Short version of 'Polyland' got selected for 'The Guardian Pitch' at Sheffield Doc Fest 2016. Her short doc, 'Resistance Recipes', a food and farming themed documentary highlighting the everyday struggles of Palestinians in the West Bank, has been selected for the London, Bristol and Toronto Palestine Film Festivals. For the past fours years, Dasa has also been working on an animated documentary "Not a Saint, just an Angel" about a 95 year old peace activist from London.
