Béla Váradi
Photographer and Visual Artist
Béla Váradi is a UK-based Romani photographer and visual artist working across documentary photography, installation, and socially engaged practice. His long-term projects examine identity, structural inequality, and the politics of representation, often developed in close collaboration with marginalised communities across Britain and Central and Eastern Europe.
His work has been published in The Guardian and Balkan Insight, and exhibited internationally, including at Queer Britain (London), Stiftung Kai Dikhas (Berlin), LoosenArt Gallery (Rome), and the 2025 Milan Triennale. Váradi’s practice combines rigorous visual storytelling with research-driven, participatory approaches, creating bodies of work that move between journalistic inquiry and conceptual presentation. Through sustained engagement and narrative sequencing, he seeks to challenge dominant visual narratives while foregrounding lived experience and community agency.
